SHUTUP!!!!! THERE IS NO SUCH THIS AS LIQUID WOOD YOU STUPID RETARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE AN IDIOT GO TO COLLEGE STUPID. The liquid state of a molecule or element has to do with its polarity. Like water is a liquid because of hydrogen bonds. the hydrogen is attracted to the oxygen atom of another H2O molecule. Not everthing can be a liquid. some go straight from a solid to a gas, like wood would do.
I was thinking that the "had broke" or "had stole" construction was AAVE, but I could be confused. I'm guessing people talking about jive were referring to words such as "sheeeet" and "sistren." And using the present (grammatical) tense for past events is, AFAIK, just conversational.
I've never used anything but cold water for laundry and dishes (okay, maybe lukewarm for dishes in the middle of winter), and everything gets clean just fine. Use the chance to learn how to use less hot water every day--you'll save money from heating the boiler, too.
While having a target for weight loss is a must, there are other ways than money to get you there. Infact I recently wrote about some frugal ways to lose weight and stay in shape. Everyday activities can be turned into weight loss methods! The reward is a healthier and better looking you!
A simple piece of paper with 3-5 simple targets is enough. Keep it in your wallet/purse, stick it on the fridge or at your desk.
My new diet plan that I started this spring. Two simple steps: 1) Plant a big, "old fashioned" garden (9 long rows of all sorts of goodies) & commit to at least 30 minutes of workin' it every day (some days I do up to 2 hours, hoeing, planting, weeding, etc).
2) Commit to taking a lunch each day to work that is strictly from food I harvest (once the goodies started rolling in!)......so, over the last month and a 1/2 I have been able to start feasting on huge salads full of romaine, onions, radishes, diced squash and zucchini. I am VERY MUCH READY for other stuff to start arriving (still have corn, okra, cucumbers, pumpkins, spinach, and peppers growing).
Just those two changes (everything else remained the same) have had a huge impact:
1. I have lost 25 lbs since I started the garden in March.
2. I predict that I have saved $150 on lunch items and storebought veggies in the last 1 1/2 months (when the veggies started producing).
3. I am still significantly overweight, BUT, I am much more limber, am sleeping better, my GERD has disappeared, my blood pressure is lowered, and my attitude has improved. Diggin' in the dirt is an excellent stress buster!!! I've even met some neighbors by being outside my house more.

I have to agree with Allison's comment about requests for money being tacky. I was always taught (and I think any ettiquette expert would agree) that you do not mention gifts, registries, money or anything of the sort on invitations to the EVENT (wedding invitation, birth announcement, etc). The appropriate place for these types of mention are on (or included with) invitations to the SHOWER. Showers became traditional for the exclusive purpose of giving gifts to the new couple/baby, while the event itself is supposed to just be a happy event to be shared with family and friends. According to ettiquette, it is actually rude to take gifts to a wedding, although most people are not aware of it. The gifts should be given prior to or following the happy occasion.
It is never appropriate to mention money directly in any kind of written form. The right way to handle this to wait for people to ask what the bride and groom would most appreciate, then close family and bridesmaids/groomsmen can respond that the couple could probably use money for house, new furniture, honeymoon, etc.
I liked it. But then I like James Joyce and Faulkner too, so there you go. I'd call this stream-of-consciousness writing: more emphasis on tone and feeling, rather than formal structure. It's as if you were really hearing someone's actual thoughts as an event unfolds.
I'm not so sure I get the comments about AAVE, jive and ghetto. I wouldn't say it's an example of any of that.
I have lived in Central America for over 10 years
the crime in Honduras is much worse than Costa Rica
At least in Costa Rica they do not kill you
and yes the Island of Roatan in Honduras (scuba diving)
is very heavily infested with crack heads who will steal whatever they can.
However if you keep your wits about you and stay at a reputable hotel you should have no problems
I loved on this island for close to 4 years
and the problems arise when you own or rent a house
the question is not will it be robbed but when and how often.
In Costa Rica taxis are cheap,,,USE THEM AT NIGHT and no problems, Just make sure it has the yellow triangle taxi logo and a meter as some gypsy cabs will set you up fro robbery especially if you are inebriated.
If anyone need info on crime or other matters on Central America,,,just ask
In Honduras my house has been robbed several times but I have never been mugged or had things stolen on the road.
I drive between Panama and Honduras a lot.
Yikes that brings back memories of last winter. My boiler blew and i had no hot water for a week. It was absolutely miserable for the first fes days and then guess what you just kind of get used to boiling kettles and using hot water more economically. But i can tell you i was soooo glad when the boiler was fixed.
I don't know about travel insurance so much... I know this is exactly the kind of hubris you warn us about, but I lived for six months in San Jose, taking weekend excursions all over the country -including Jaco three times. Only thing I ever lost was an umbrella that I forgot and left in the back of a cab.
Our profesores warned us as much about the racks of the bus as they did the underbelly of the bus... we always carried bags at our feet or in our laps. If I did use the rack, I made sure a strap dangled down right at my eye level and/or was wrapped around one of the poles a couple times.
I know what you're getting at here, but I sure hope it doesn't discourage people from visiting Costa Rica. :)
Most of the culinary schools prepare students to get good positions in the culinary, service and hospitality industry. They offer exclusive culinary courses that are well designed and structured and help students to explore about the subject.
Maybe I am wrong, but isn't the business model you describe for doing the marketing for up-and-coming artists just the description of the old model of the music industry with agents and labels that take care of that?
Maybe with a better margin for the artists, but nonetheless...
I was stuck int the middle of trying to configure the plumbing and wiring for an 'at point' waterheater and presently given up for now but have instead enjoyed the huge gas bill savings from the heater constantly turning on with the slightest use. Especially because of anti-bacterial soaps, colder water isn't bad. Research has shown handwashing with colder water is better for retarding germ growth while washing them off. My grandmother aways taught even cold water for most everything I need to clean was okay as long as I immediately rinse and wash. For serious full body cleaning I go to my job's gym at the end of every other day and long shower, job perk. Otherwise, having grown up on welfare, my mother always taught us how to important key bodyparts sink bathe with a broken shower at times. That's why even if I was homeless there are always gas station washrooms and soap, to even hand clean underwear in a sink. That's long distance road traveling FYI, personal car or Greyhound.
The funny thing is while you guys were focusing on correct English, Jabulani was focusing on math and counting his clicks and comments. Some of you grammar school teachers might have replaced this guy's computer without even knowing it. How does it feel to be mind f*** twice, without even knowing it, or realizing it. He did it to you twice! Interesting revelation for some of you idiots: This jerk had two of the three most popular blogs on the site today because you were studying commas while he is soaking up sun, blogging and laughing. I understood him, I understood him all too well. Jabulani you're in paradise, your stuff got stolen and you're taking it in stride while other people sit at home in their pajamas. Jabulani, I think you're an evil genius.
Pardon me everybody but I thought this piece was about the need for travel insurance. The narrative, unorthodox and unconventional as it may have been, served the purpose of a blog: A quick hit and a smirk with links to useful information. I think he was puposely writing in a conversational sytle. I think he wrote short choppy sentences and one word paragraphs for a purpose. I think some people on here were literally looking for something to pick at and it's not that deep. If you read that "remix" piece, he seems to have turned lemons into lemonade and is just toying with you guys. Besides, at the end of the day, if you read this guy's bio or even google the dude, his record as a writer and journalist speaks for itself. And his click count is up because of all the hate. Keep giving them something to talk about "homeslice."
Cornstarch works great as a dry shampoo and is super cheap -- especially compared to brand name dry shampoo. If you're a brunette like me, you have to make sure you brush it all out or else it looks a bit gray (using a blow dryer helps get it out, too). Baby powder will also do.
Great Post Paul! I added this to our list of career resources for recent College Grads.
I see a jelly-filled doughnut in my immediate future. Thanks for the heads up!

Actually, it can, just not at atmospheric pressure. So if it's pressurized in a can, it can be liquid.

The washing machine has a hot cycle?
Go to the gym and shower there!!
