As a chef I'm telling you the tomato technique works. I don't know why you would be using an assembly line technique for an individual meal at home so I would stick with just cutting them manually. And I know it's shocking and people apparently need to be told this through the article but, yes, your knives need to be sharp in order to cut things. That's knives' whole...thing. They are sharp so they can cut. If they are no longer sharp enough to cut through a tomato its probably time to buy a new set of knives. The garbage bucket "hack" also works and you really shouldn't be putting liquids into your trash. Did nobody tell you this when you moved out on your own? Finally, the toaster sandwich hack must be for a toaster made for bagels so to judge it without using a toaster wide enough does not mean it does not work. Everything else on here IS useless and do not actually work.
My suggestion for the pancake batter is to use a ziplock bag. Fill the bag with batter, seal it, and cut a small hole in a bottom corner. Throw away the bag when done. Easy!
Yes! Only enough space for tomatoes, bell peppers and herb plants that I get from a local organic farmer. Tried eggplant last year but something ate the leaves up. :(
I have a small plot and some containers for veggies, but we do have an asparagus patch and are thinking of adding a peach tree this year, so it's always getting bigger and better.
I wish I did, but I do NOT have a green thumb. Every time I've tried having plants they just die right away. If I did have a vegetable garden I would love to grow bell peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, zucchini, sugar snap peas, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, and a bunch of herbs too!
Heck yes I have a garden. I plant a cool weather and warm weather one. There is nothing better than taking a garden ripened tomato off the vine and eating it on a BLT. Does a garden save money? Probably. But the produce quality is the reason I do it.
Yes! But all things that are pretty easy and mostly things that can be started from seed: greens (kale, mustard), squash (kabocha, pumpkins), herbs (basil, thyme, parsley, oregano), tomatillos, cherry tomatoes, green onions. I love it. I don't consider myself to be a person who knows a lot about gardening but there is something very satisfying about cooking with things from your garden!
I swore off the salon years ago. My boyfriend cuts my hair so i pay ZERO at the salon. Save hundreds a year. And my hair has never looked better. I'm no money maker for them, so I'm sure they will no enciourage other women to do the same to save money and look better.
You do not have to own a house (or a yard) to plant a veggie garden! I am an apartment dweller and I plant a container garden every year. This year I have two types of lettuce, sugar snap peas, a patio tomato, kale, basil, nasturtiums, and thyme.
Eating vegetables, fruits and herbs that you have planted, nurtured and watched blossom makes the meal so much more tasty! Even if you only have a window sill, start a few small herb pots!
We mostly just grow tomatoes so not really a full fledged veggie garden but we have a big problem with deer and squirrels stealing the tomatoes and eating the plants.
Yes I just started a vegetable garden last year, and I love it! You can grow your favorite varieties of your favorite veggies at a fraction of the cost of buying them in the store. It's easy to do, you can learn so much from all the information that's available on the internet.
We just bought a house in december and are planting our vegetable garden next weekend! Steak tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, colored bell peppers and some herbs.
I have some herbs inside, but outside isn't good for gardening, we are redoing our landscape and I may add one then.

There are no bananas in the list. WTF and there is a picture of a bowl of bananas at the end. :)
I tried to grow a vegetable garden a few years ago but the South Florida bugs destroyed everything!

I intersperse vegetables and herbs among my flower beds. I live where we have 4 growing seasons so I have something going all year round.
