A wonderful article on cutting the cable cord. I myself cut cable an year ago and now I am enjoying the benefits of streaming everything from the internet. I also bought an android box which is connected to my Television vis an HDMI Cable. I can now stream netflix as well as play all my media off a USB stick.
I try to get exercise by walking during my break times and during my lunch hour, by taking the stairs and also parking further from the entrance of my work building. Those little things really add up.
Great tips! I've already spent on my gifts for friends and family, but for the most part I'm going for a no-spend holiday season otherwise. Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for this article it's very informative, I learned a lot of tricks, tricks that are simple yet effective. For me outsourcing significantly reduce expenses specially for a small company, lots of firms now a days are moving to business process outsourcing from accounting services to payroll processing. Decrease the cost and increase the profit is the objective of every business. A good number of businesses are outsourcing, like here in the Philippines the total revenue of the Philippines from foreign business is peg at $20 billion, doing business in the Philippines will not only reduce the expenses but also increase the net profit of the company. Anyways, this article is very useful for small and big businesses who want to cut cost.
Great ideas. As for a wedding photographer, I suggest having a professional do ceremony, family pics & wedding party. Reception being done by a friend is fine IMO.
Hi Todd, like Alaina said, my boyfriend (now fiance) didn't help me with my living expenses. We had a very clear 50/50 line on everything, including rent, utilities, internet, and our shared dog. Even before moving in with him, I paid about $400 extra toward my loans. I would recommend getting a roommate to anyone who has loans - it definitely made a huge difference. But I could have still paid off my loans without moving in with my fiance. It probably would've added an extra year to my plan.
A toaster oven is very energy efficient comparatively to cranking up a big daddy oven! Also, this is on WiseBread??? ...A wise person may use a bread maker to save a whole lot of dough over time--those machines are simple to use, cheaper than running an oven, and there a many recipes online that can be made with very inexpensive ingredients...they also, make pizza dough and that will save you as well. You can pick them up for a few bucks at a thrift store--you cannot typically find a nice mixer for pennies on the dollar. Leftovers! Really? Soups on is all I can say!
After 20 years and 11 months, after serving in various supervisory and management positions, I found myself out of graces and a job at a national medical laboratory. There weren't many, if any, jobs in a medical lab in Buffalo and who wants to hire a 50 year old? There was a native casino opening soon in the area with lots of new jobs coming. I got myself a job doing the hiring for the new venture. It was great and exciting. When the hiring was drying up at the beginning I started doing the internal mail. Now 12 years later I'm still the mailman for the resort and casino. No more all that stress and pressure of supervising and management. Resposible for myself and I get t work with some great people.
I wouldn't drink tea either. I don't drink soda because of all the above, and tea isn't a good thing to drink because it does a great deal of damage to your intestines. Tea isn't healthy either!! Please do NOT drink it!
@Lars - thanks for this great article. I am totally OCD when it comes to being prepared - and so I had a GREAT appreciation for your article.
Not only will preparing ahead of time help ease tension and stress - it can also allow you to save a few dollars. I guarantee at least a few stores will up prices around some Thanksgiving 'essentials' right around Turkey Time. Or worse yet - you run out of something - the stores are closed on Thanksgiving day - and you have to run to the convenience store and pay double - if not more.
I incorporate working out at least 4 days a week. I always go right after work or on the weekends. I enjoy working out by weight training. I used to be a cardio bunny but realized that I loved strength training and felt empowered in the gym. I love looking toned and feeling strong! :)
Maybe my kitchen is in better shape than I thought. I've never owned a panini press, breadmaker, toaster oven, rice cooker, mandoline or electric kettle. I gave all my cake decorating things to my daughter a few years back. I don't keep left overs and I certainly don't keep open canned food items. Try to clean out my spices once a year as they tend to lose efficacy. I am guilty of old plastic food containers still in use . . . ordered some new ones for my husband for Christmas!!! Also, we no longer drink so the jiggers, booze and glasses were disposed of several years back. So would someone please tell me why I think my kitchen is still cluttered??? I'm keeping my coffee maker and bean grinder!
Then nextdesk is the most expensive and has no quality over the uplift. You can literally build the same desk and save over $500 with uplift. I'm currently trying to choose the best and most affordable for home recording music and so far the uplift has the best features but still is a little high. I cannot justify the cost of a standard desk with just adding a small motor.
This is a nice fairy tale with a wonderful ending. However, there is not one shred of information on how they supposedly accomplished this. Call me a skeptic, but these claims do not seem realistic.

I try going for a brisk walk at lunchtime.

The test is to leave the other party out: If "the reporter interviewed I" is incorrect, then "the reporter interviewed Bob and I" is also wrong.

That is why they say to use water in your eyes not the peroxide concoction.

I block out time ever week. I park far away from my desitnation. Use the stairs when possible.

I love my toaster oven, and use it almost daily. And I don't really eat toast! I use mine more as a mini oven/broiler.

BARE is my favorite!! Have never had any problems with them.
Never pay a fee to start mystery shopping. I have done several shops with several companies and I've never had to pay a fee.
i go exercise (gym) directly after work or i make a "date" out of it with my husband. we go to the gym or walk around the park.
I use clothes pins as bag clips and save even more.
