I love the idea of "not now" because instead of feeling like I CAN'T have something, it helps me realize that there will be better timing. It's helpful when helping one's self into a more frugal lifestyle!

The "Dealing with Debt Problems" article on Bargain Babe suggests contacting a psychic. The last thing people with debt problems need is to be conned out of their money by hiring some fake fortune teller.
This might not qualify as a gift but it is something that stands out in my mind. I didn't have my only child until I was 34 y/o. He was probably about two years old when he walked up to me while I was sitting in my chair and gave me a hug. That was the first time he had spontaneously hugged me on his own. Just out of the blue, he toddled over and did it, then toddled off. That was the best feeling!
Dont forget frittatas! Whisk 6-8 eggs together, pour in a greased pie plate with whatever veggies and meat you want, then bake for 30ish minutes at about 350. Super easy and filling!
Nice post. I built my desk with the kit in #7 of your list from diystandingdeskkit.com . It was really easy to assemble and looks good in my apartment. I started with t he ol' box on top of desk then the books under the desk legs to elevate the desk, but that just wasn't very "zen" and looked really bad. I looked for commercial standing desks, but they were just way too expensive. I got the IKEA desk, the DIY kit and an adjustable dual monitor stand for around $200 and couldn't be happier with it...it saved my back and I feel much better than when I used to sit all day.
My Kitchenaid mixer. My husband got it free from someone who said it was broken. He fixed it for less than $10 in parts. It's special because it's a wonderful item and my husband fixed it just for me, knowing how much I really wanted one.

My dear husband gave me a Kindle for Christmas two years ago and we don't normally exchange gifts anymore. Together 35 years and just don't really need anything.
