No "Black Friday" shopping for me! The crowds are not worth it, (in my opinion, some people don't mind crowds), plus you can find similar deals throughout the year. Cyber Monday, on the other hand, I do. No crowds and the assistance of coupon code finders via Chrome help make sure the deals are the best possible. Not guaranteed I will purchase anything on Cyber Monday, as I previously mentioned you can find similar deals throughout the year. It is way easier to compare prices online as opposed to driving from store to store to store.
Yes, I do shop Black Friday deals, but from home. I always check out all ads from different stores and then make a list of what I plan on buying and where. The items I generally go for the most are apparel and toys.
No. I try to avoid all attempts to drag me into the shopping mania. I'd rather unplug and relax with family, not go buy more things that will take up more of my time trying to fix and maintain them.

I don't shop Black Friday sales. It's too crazy and people are too violent. I relax at home and watch the news reports of the madness. I'm a minimalist so I don't like lots of stuff and neither do my friends or family so the sales don't matter to us. It's also hypocritical to give thanks for the things that you have only to go out the next day and try to buy as much as possible and behave poorly doing it. Thanksgiving weekend is about gratitude and enjoying what you have not getting more things you don't need.
Great tips - especially about flowers. A guy who buys you an untraditional bunch of flowers may come off less cliche and more like someone who actually put some thought into the gift... all while getting more bang for the buck!
Great post! I am a fan of the debt snowball too, and I can't voice enough how necessary my emergency fund is! It's so tempting to use it to pay off debt, but having that fund has saved me so many times.
People that cause road rage do have very severe mental issues which they need help very bad. There is No reason to tailgate when there is a passing lane on the left which many people do it on purpose to begin with. It is just too bad that we Don't have enough police on the road to look out for these trouble makers before more innocent people get hurt bad over this.
For years my family has been having Brisket for Thanksgiving, instead of turkey. My mother will find the meat for cheap at a different time of year, deep-freeze it, defrost, and then cook for 5-6 hours in the oven. It's amazing, serves more people, and is far moister. The leftovers we then have as beef sandwiches for days.
I recently made a loaf of rye bread from a mix, and the yeast packet included in it must have been exposed to heat at some point because the dough did not rise. I rescued it by mixing a package of rapid-rising yeast with 1/3 of a cup of very warm water. This was poured into the bowl with the dough and mixed into it, and then I added a few fistfuls of flour to soak up the extra water, kneaded it all together and set it to rise again. That time it worked and it made a really delicious loaf of bread.
I bake bread pretty much every week, and this was the first time in years that I'd a loaf just completely fail to rise.
Your method of looking for coral clothes also works for household items. Keep your eyes peeled in the thrifts and be true to one or two colors you really love and they should all hang together. I'm a sucker for cranberry furnishings, cobalt blue bowls and black clothes. Accessory items that go with these grounding colors keep the final combo lively but not overly busy.
You can have all the coral you want, but I'll snap up that baby blue! It may make you look like death, but it's perfect for me.
That said, the "neutrals" thing is something to keep in mind for your lifetime too. My mom's wardrobe is full of a mountain of bright colors that she loves, but she always asks me why she can't make a "good" looking outfit (like whatever I'm wearing that day). I've tried explaining that my wardrobe is 70% true neutrals, 25% blues (which are "kind of" neutrals, but not really neutral in the traditional sense as they are all shades of blue), and 5% other (a handful of shirts, dresses and skirts that I've accrued for specific reasons but like too much to get rid of yet). Neutrals go on sale/clearance basically year-round, as styles change, so they're easy to find regularly.
Otherwise, I have definitely looked at unpopular colors in the past: consider whether changing the color will be easy - a $5 ugly lamp, two free end tables in various wood grains, plus a free white dresser get hit with some black and silver spray paint (about $20 worth for the better kind - one coat for solid coverage), and we had a gorgeous matching set of furniture for our living room that all matched and has served us well for several years. We're upgrading the two end tables to bookshelves, but black is easy to find, and adding some silver accents is cheap (basically free), and will tie them in with the set without breaking the bank.
The author obviously doesn't understand what introversion is. Introversion is NOT shyness! Both introverts and extroverts can be either shy or outgoing.

We've adapted our Thanksgiving dinner in a number of different ways. To make the day less exhausting, we've switched from turkey to a special chicken breast recipe. It cooks in much less time and uses up a lot less oven space. Another way that the menu has changed is for those who have special diets. I have a good quinoa recipe to replace stuffing for my son's gluten sensitive girlfriend - and the rest of us benefit from this healthier alternative that is also quite tasty. I also make more things from scratch, which not only saves money, but also results in healthy, delicious dishes. I make my own cream soup and my husband and I have learned to bake our own bread and rolls together. I've also been trying out new cranberry recipes to replace the canned cranberry sauce (I really like it but want something more special). This years recipe sounds promising and I hope it becomes a keeper. I'm changing to apple crisp to save some calories, but the crustless pumpkin pie recipe remains a family favorite.
We just get some turkey breasts instead of a full turkey. This year we're hoping to start a new tradition and will be heading to the Caribbean for some fun in the sun for a few days!

I try to stay away from the craziness of Black Friday. Would rather sit my a cozy fire, with a hot chocolate, my tablet, and Amazon!
Typically try and find deals just before as there are more items available and I seem to find better deals

I don't have any alternative Thanksgiving traditions
Coral Cycles! Who knew!

Thanks for sharing a great list!
Also very cheap greeting cards $0.99 for many of them
