So true, Kevin. And that advice applies in so many areas. When I finally upgraded to a smartphone recently, I was going over the monthly service contract and noticed a $72 charge for the privilege of upgrading to a more expensive monthly plan. I called Sprint right from the Best Buy store and they removed the charge with no push-back. It's amazing what you can get with, as you say, one simple phone call.
I like search for free shipping services from FreeShipping.com, and get wonderful cash-back from Ebates. Sometimes, I visits the rising-star CouponSnapshot.com for Target's deals. All in all, I always enjoy my shopping with the help of so many good websites. Under the tough economy climate, spend les and save more becomes a must, as well as a trend.
How do you change a SONY DVP-SR200P into an all-region player? Tried the suggestions below, but none work; does not show which Region it is set to (Region1) and so, cannot change it. HELP!
First off, I like how it's a guy writing this article. *rolls eyes*
Of COURSE, you can do all of these treatments at home. The point of going to a spa is to treat yourself, so you can relax and not do the work yourself. Every girl knows that a pedicure at a spa is much better than what you give yourself at home.
Thanks though, for telling us what we already know. : )
Although the "debt stacking" method saves you more money, it really depends on what your interest rates are. Sometimes the difference in the $$ you can save isn't that much, so paying off the lowest balance will give you more motivation. As Dave Ramsey says, getting out of debt is 80% mental and 20% knowledge.
These are all great suggestions. People don't really realize that one simple phone call to your creditors can make all the difference in the world! I remember one time I was being charged for a "premier checking account" that I never signed up for, and they went back 6 months and credited be back $120.
I'm only half Canadian, but we get one from the Canuck side of the family every year. It's delicious; after it cures, we freeze half of it and then slowly savor it over the course of a couple of months. Amazing with cream cheese.
I have to disagree. There's not one institution that does the best job offering the best interest rates, credit card rewards, brokerage fees, etc. To get the best, you have to shop around.
To manage everything though, automate all payments, savings and investments so to come out of one account. Then you can see where everything is coming in and where it's going.
Best advice I can offer: get an internship before you graduate. It could potentially turn into a job (and at the very least will give you some more experience on your resume, which never hurts)!

I am looking forward to that feeling of a "clean slate". Like Anne of Green Gables said "tomorrow is fresh with no mistakes."
