I think gift cards are wonderful. I can score sales after Christmas and get more for my money. I usually run out and spend them right away so I don't chance losing it. I like to give them as well. I try to find unique ways to present them.
I'm looking forward to going to Japan and saving the cash to do it this year. I'm also excited about paying down more debt. Finally, I really want this to be the year that I finally get in shape.
Our youngest child will be going away to college. We are excited to be empty nesters, even though we will miss having both of our kids at home. We are proud that they have grown to be confident and self-sufficient.
My wife and I were once plagued by late fees due to how we were incorrectly handling money. Most of the time these fees happened not because we didn't have enough money coming it, but because we were just not paying attention to our account. After we started being really intentional about our finances we saw a huge shift in our financial position as well as our relationship with each other!
I look forward to pleasant surprises in 2012...nothing specific. Also, I'm curious to see whether the Mayans prediction of humankind entering into a new era will come to pass on December 21,2012.
My youngest starts school in the fall.
My youngest daughter's college graduation. No more tuition!
1) Pay off at least one of the two credit cards I still have a balance on.
2) Find a job that doesn't leave me constantly stressed-out and/or angry.
3) Generally continue to be totally awesome.
For the first time ever, I'm going to track my spending. Believe it or not, I'm kind of excited about it!
I'm looking forward to expanding our family next year!
Really taking advantage of the time I have to complete some of the lingering projects I have on the list. I feel they stifle my creativity :)

Since I lost my grandfather, father, and two uncles last year, I'm looking forward to no one else dying in 2012.
