Great advice, only thing I would not agree with is cutting up a credit card if you are trying to build credit, by having no credit card you sacrifice your good credit standing and it can bring your credit scores down. I would suggest keeping one card with a low available credit, use it for either gas and/or groceries and make sure to pay it off every month. If it has any perks such as cash back, travel pts, etc then you are also getting benefits from doing this. But NO credit cards will stop and/or delay getting a loan in the future.
I don't eat out, get mani-pedis, buy expensive clothing (or any if there's nothing I need) or even use a smart phone (Why should I pay to connect my phone to the internet when I have a computer to do that?). I do, however have cable since without it, we get 2 channels.
The adage to change your oil every 3,000 miles is kind of old. Most new cars can go beyond the 3,000 miles. I know in my car, I don't need to change the oil every 3,000 miles. So, I guess it differs for each owner. They should check their owners manual to see when they actually need to change their oil.
"Peace of Mind" pretty much sums it up. We have what we need, are able to pay our bills and can set money aside for things important to us. For every new thing that comes in to our home 2 things must go out. We'll be moving from a 7 bedroom to a 2 bedroom home, so only our absolutely favorite things will come with us; the rest will go to Goodwill or sold at a moving sale. Less is more!
I am sure expecting a few of these this father's day. I don't want my family spending crazy money on one day. I actually request that as part of my father's day present. No going overboard spending money. 1,4,5 and 6 would be a great day!
The #1 thing to a happy secure retirement (After good health) Have your (no matter how humble) accommodation PAID in full....Renting is not the right direction and is making someone else rich.. If you have your health and a flow of cash that covers all your expenses and enough left over so as you do not have to work part time ..Hey .You have it all..Be happoy..
I buy this longterm stuff only after the season, where are usually bought. It´s very easy. I give them into the attic and the grill is ready in the summer and with the half price.
Not sure if I would agree with cutting up your credit cards completely. I have 2 and I use them for their reward programs. I pay the balance off in full every month, so there is no debt accumulation. They can also be helpful when building up your credit (again, paying off the balance in full every month).
I was just thinking about shopping for a new Apple laptop. I guess I'll be waiting now... Great list with lots of little bits of information that are easy to miss if you don't do the research!
As just another day... none of our "dads" live in town, so cards will be sent in advance and phone calls made, but just another Sunday at our house. :)
We grill some burgers, make his favorite dessert and play cornhole with him (his favorite outdoor game). Nice day with dad and doesn't break our budget.
In rememberence and to honor my husband, our boys and I will take a glass bottom boat tour and talk about our favorite things about their dad. We chose this tour because that's where their dad & I got married. (On the boat) After we leave the tour, we eat at his favorite burger joint and look over scrapbooks of all of our trips together and joyful times. We finish up our day by placeing fresh flowers & cards at his grave. It is a really moving and wonderful time that we all look forward too each year.
Living here in Florida, we are at the beach, swiming at the lake & tubing down the river all summer long. So the #1 item I look for is Swimware! My teenage sons go through the swimshorts like the water they play in! At $3 each average, they can be "hard" on them without me worrying about the cost of designer swimware becoming torn up, and they ALWAYS look good when we are in public.
My Da is too far away to see him, but he (and my new father-in-law) will be receiving nice cards in the mail. Father's Day has never been commercial for my family -- only reflective and full of gratitude. That said, schmaltzy cards are a no-no!
I sure to be buying things for my son's birthday and father's day!!! Best time to buy the grills are after the summer months when they go on discount for sure.

The issue is those banks don't usually report to the 3 credit bureaus and therefore an improved credit score is likely to take much longer.
Going to visit my Dad & probably eat something yummy for dinner!
We'll we may be taking "dad" out for buffet style eating with the kids and later making the rounds to the granddad's and giving cards made by the kids

We'll be hiking...It's my husband's favorite activity and he rarely gets time to do it. I've got all the gear ready to go.
We're hoping for a nice day at the beach. If the weather isn't great, we'll just have a laid back day at home.

Since my father is no longer living, I will celebrate by looking at old mementos and pictures of him.

We'll be driving to Tybee Island to spend Father's Day with the hubby and his dad!
