The 5 Best Cat Foods

ShareThis

Your cats deserve the very best food and we can help you find just that. But, what exactly makes a cat food “the best?” Cat food that is high in protein, low in carbohydrates, and high in antioxidants can help improve your cat’s overall health and can even help them drop excess weight. When shopping for cat food, some things to look for in the ingredients are more meat, less grain, and no corn, wheat, soy, meat byproducts, or artificial preservatives, colors, or additives.

What Is Cat Food?

Cat food offers the right combination of a tasty flavor that your cat will love, with the protein and nutrients they need to be healthy and active. With so many varieties of dry food, canned food, frozen food, and food pouches to choose from, you can find the perfect cat food for your picky feline. Options like organic, natural, and grain free cat food are preferable, but not necessarily something your pet needs. If you’re still not sure what is right for your pet, your veterinarian can help guide you in the right direction.

I also buy chicken hearts, livers or gizzards to supplement my cats' food. I cut them into small pieces (raw) and divided out per ounce it is cheaper than any food on the list.

I feel like I just read an advertisement, not an article. I am familiar with all of the brands listed and am reasonably certain the quality varies wildly between them.

Meow Mix dry cat food is so bad for cats (has to do with excessive amounts of some minerals) that my veterinarian actually has a flyer made up to hand out to new cat parents, warning them not to buy it.
