The U.S. Bank FlexPerks® Gold American Express® Card awards bonus points on restaurants, gas stations, and airline purchases. Points can be redeemed for travel on more than 150 airlines. (See also: Best Travel Rewards Cards

How This Card Works

Earn 3x points for each dollar spent at restuarants, 2x at gas stations, and 2x at airlines. All other purchases earn one point per dollar spent. 

Bonus offer: New cardmembers can earn 30,000 bonus points after spending $2,000 on purchases within the first four months of account opening.

You can redeem your points for gift cards, statement credit, merchandise, and more. Airline tickets with over 150 airlines are also available, starting at 20,000 points.

Other Benefits

Airline allowance. Earn a $25 airline allowance with each award travel ticket. This allowance can be used for expenses such as baggage fees and in-flight purchases of beverages and movies. This allowance appears as a statement credit and must be requested within 90 days of purchasing the award ticket.

TSA PreCheck or Global Entry Reimbursement. Get an automatic statement credit reimbursement for whichever program you apply to first.

Complimentary Boingo Wi-Fi. Stay digitally connected worldwide at over 1 million hotspots.

Pros

Bonus rewards in multiple categories. The bonus categories for this card is among the most popular and those who spend a lot in these areas can rack up points quickly. 

No foreign transaction fee. If you travel abroad frequently, you don't want to have an additional fee on top of other expenses just for using your credit card.
