OMG KELLY, ur situation sounds exactly like mine.... i wonder if its the same job offer... i've been laid off since feb and only starting recieving my unemp ben in may, due to appeals. i interviewed and just recieved an offer for this job, 10/hr plus comm. i use to make twice that, this situation has been plagueing my head in what to do, my unemp benifet amount is way more than i'd be bringing home with the job, and i've never worked in commision before so i don't know what thats like, the hr manager also said my base pay could go down depending on my sales?? ((its not sales cuz its a col agency 2)) but u get what im saying...
i don't know if i should go for it, i just worry if i pass on it what am i looking at in the future,
in my area jobs are extremely limited, especially a day job, which i've never had before ((always worked 2nd/3rd with weekends 2)) so this would be an awesome schedule for my family, but i wander if i should just take this time and maybe go back to school or get training in another field that can offer me better, i have my assoc. but maybe try nursing or something,
Also i've been working non-stop since 15 so im not lazy but i am enjoying this time off especially since i have a 1 year old and my last job was horrible hours too much overtime and stressful so i missed out alot with him already...
so should i take this job and suffer finacially or continue and bond with my kids and find a better job later or what if there isnt one later then im screwed...
Also another question for everyone, i am close to the dollar amount on my unemp statement ((maxium benifet allowed)) do i reaply after that amount has been paid to me, or do i keep getting benifets, hows all that work with extension, ive never been on un employment before
Our family motto is "Use it up, wear it out, fix it up or do without."
We're bread-making, restaurant shunning, do-it-your-self-ing and saving tons of cash. My favorite past time is watching the bank account grow and then paying off huge chunks of debt. One day, those dollars will get to stay in the family instead of filling the coffers of big corporations. Boy oh boy the fun trips we will go on then!
Almost 3 in 10 of today's 20-year-olds will be disabled before reaching the age of 67. Disability can prevent you from working and paying your bills.
This article by Linda Rey talks about who should consider disability insurance, how much disability costs, and how one can go about getting disability insurance. http://bit.ly/av0MSB

I coupon avidly, cancelled cable TV, cancelled the land line and went prepaid cell, cut electric usage, cut water use and never charge more on the credit cards that I can pay off in full.
While I've made many changes in the last year and a half, I still consider myself an "aspiring" cheapskate. I'm now out of debt, use things until they run/wear out, *attempt* to repair things myself and cook from scratch more often than I used to. HOWEVER, I have a long way to go before these behaviors become second nature. Looking forward to joining the cheapskate ranks.
I buy all my clothes from Goodwill or thrift stores.
All lights, except the room I am working in, are switched off at night.
Use public transport for everything. Don't own a car.
I prefer to listen to a battery-operated radio than watch TV. This makes me more active since I can listen to the radio in any room and not vegetate in front of the TV.
I pack my own lunch to work. I don't eat until I am very full. I stop when I feel "mostly full".
I've made it a point to have lunch away from my desk every afternoon. I also take a walk by myself (or with a colleague if they want to join me) after lunch. This increases my productivity and makes me feel good for the rest of the day.
I don't eat out much and prefer home-cooked food.
I go on a "no spending" spree for a week every month.
I always recommend saving the max your employer will match your 401k with your very first paycheck. That way, you will never miss what you never had, and you will have to live without it.
Also, consider signing up for health care account if you tend to have health expenses.
It's fun to think about just starting out. All the opportunity!
I believe the first thing that someone has to take care of is to spend wisely. The excitement of getting the first pay check can lead you to impulse buying and, you may end up spending all your cash. It is better to have a control over your emotions. Thanks for the post, it is really nice!

Thanks again for the come back. You are a wealth of information. I had been running the raw product through the Brita.
I had been having problems with cloudiness. The last cut I did, I took cold filtered water from the frig and dumped it into the room temp product. Perfectly clear.
The first time I got 'cloudy' was with tap water filtered thru the Brita. The 2nd was with Kroger's distilled water. For what it is worth.
1.Is aging with toasted oak necessary when you are going to be using essences in the product ? I use a reflux.
2. I was at Lowes last night. In their out door area, they have big bags of plain wood chips: Hickory and apple. Only $4. Apple seems intriguing . Anyone try toasting apple?
I use coupons like crazy! I'm not picky about the products I use - whatever is on sale with a coupon! Sunday mornings are my favorite - that's when all the ads come and all the coupons come and I have a field day finding what I can get for less than $1.
I consider myself a "cheapskate" by the way my household is run. Lunches are made at home for work, school, outings, etc. Water bottles are filled up anytime we get into the car, there is 200.00 mo/50.00 wk spent on groceries for a family of four. Ebay it all day long for back to school clothing, craigslist etc. I dont believe I have paid full price for anything in the last few years.
Being frugal is a stress free way of life. Your family is closer, your bills and debts are being paid, and it makes it easier when you know that snack you put in your mouth was either free, or next to nothing.
Life is good, and you should never waste it on material things. You cant take it with you, and when you do have it; it is only temporary enjoyment. That is not true happiness. God, Family, and a peaceful life is worth being "cheap."
I am a real estate broker andobviously have been hit hard in this economic downturn. I am not underwater nor have I ever been late in my mortgage payments. However, within the next 6 months my savings will be depleted and paying my monthly mortgage will be difficult as right now the only steady income I have is social security. All of this I explained to the loan modification group at Wells Fargo when I discussed my eligibilty. "The rules have changed, we can help you..." and so, I applied. Wells Fargo didn't "get to" my paperwork for 3 months and then asked that I re-submit it as it was no longer current. I was told I had to re-submit within 48 hours. I updated and re-submitted. I quickly received my answer. My application was denied because, surprise, I did not have enough income and I was not underwater and had some money left in my bank account. This 6 month circus was topped off with a letter suggesting a short sale or foreclosure, I started receiving phone calls from Wells Fargo basically wanting to know which direction I would like to go. What the company could have done was suggest reverse mortgage as I am over 62. Or, just selling the property at a price where it would sell and the loser would be me as it would diminish my equity but they would still get paid. A short sale? A foreclosure? It was a robotic response.
As you had mentioned above, 0,9 were supposed to be ALL-REGION dvds. Unfortunately my (US) laptop couldn't seem to play it..but region 2 does! I'm a bit confused though, and I'd like to know how I could solve this..
Can sombody help me get my "Rosen AV7500 Dual headrest DVD system region free?? ;)
Ive got one tip:
1) With NO disc in the DVD Drive
2) On remote control press:
EJECT-ENTER-0-1-6-7 (Do not use EJECT on the unit itself)
A Region Prompt appears on top-right of screen.
Enter Region 9 (on some versions you may have to enter 0 here)
The unit is now permanently REGION-FREE
But my problem is that the "Eject-button" is "Not active" on the remotecontrollers!!

Happy Canada Day!!

I've also used the Bounce dryer sheets to keep away pesky insects while camping. Just hang them near your campsite, and the bees should stay away.
Sorry, I didnt mean for that to be posted twice. I think something went wrong.

I use coupons like they are the only currency I have! I am not happy unless I save at least 75% on my purchases!
