Alright, I've searched a lot of sights on how great swoopo really is and now I'm thinking I should buy somewhere else. i want the place to be real, safe, and I want to save money. Any ideas?
I think this definition of "work" is better than what most people thing of their "work". - the effort or activity directed toward the production or accomplishment of something. I also like your definition too, but sometimes there are things that don't seem worth doing, but still need to be done. So a combination of the two seems to cover both sides of work - worthwhile items and a bit of the drudgery.
Having said that I think some work is necessary for our well being. If we just lazed around all day that would cause a new kind of drudgery. For myself, I'd answer the question "Would you work if you didn't have to?" with a emphatic "Yes". But I'd likely do something different... which (as it should be as Edward also stated for himself) is what I'm doing on the side (well, actually trying to get started doing in the next few years) - professional organizing and life coaching. IF I didn't have to do other paid work to support myself and my family, then I'd probably start right away and likely do it for free for others for the JOY of helping someone else get organized, find balance in their life and live their dreams.
Credit card users must always beware since many ATMs abroad don't always accept LINK cards, which sometimes causes your card not to work when it's not your bank's fault at all!
Thank you for the wonderful article. I am already an avid user of my credit card during vacations and travels. It really saves me a lot of time and saves me a lot of effort to carry these bills in my wallet. Plus, it really contributes to my credit reputation. I am very pleased really.
If you're traveling with super valuable items, like wedding rings or fine jewelry sets, or even just worried about their safety at home, you could consider opting for a personal articles floater insurance policy to protect them. Check out Linda Rey's article on the Equifax Personal Finance Blog for more information on what types of valuables you could insure.
Just for the food portion of backpacking trip, I can tell you I use Backpackers Pantry, they are cheap and delicious. I served in the Army for 4 years and was quickly burnt out on MRE's. I am an outdoorsman and love to camp and hike. I've tried tons of different MRE's and none compare to the Camping Food & Backpacking Food at Backpacker's Pantry. I suggest you give it a try!
Well written, and an excellent point about work. I especially like your point that when "Used properly, the word "work" refers to the stuff that you do that's worth doing. Who wouldn't want to do that?" Great statement!
I currently have a day job, but my real passion, my work, is what I do in the mornings and evenings, before and after my job (www.makereadyfitness.com).
Nancy, I live in Gainesville, FL and have a HOA and are about to begin replacing much of our (weedy) sod in the front with Florida friendly landscaping, despite a HOA that demands sites be sodded. A state law passed last year states that HOA rules or deed restrictions cannot be used to stop someone from putting in Florida friendly landscaping. You can do it, and they can't stop you. Just make sure it is "Florida friendly". Check out the document below for the text of the law, which also qualifies what is meant by Florida friendly. Then check out the Florida Yards and Neighborhoods site for help in coming up with a design.
I live in west central Florida and would love to xeriscape, but my community won't allow it. How ridiculous is that! It's the intelligent way to go in areas like ours as well as the southwest.
You can never go wrong with some table games. But this probably has a lot to due with the fact that if I buy such a gift to my father or one of my 2 brothers, is like buying it for all 3... group gift :))
Gator,
Try this extra step. When you freeze it, pull it out to thaw and refreeze. Every time you do this, you get layers. After a few times, the very top will be almost pure water. You should be able to pull it off as a sheet of ice. Be careful with 140 deg water. Some yeast can handle it, but others have to be cooler. I have always liked it to be cool enough to stick your hand in without having to pull it out from burning, about 110.
I agree with the Zenni Optical reference. The glasses are super cheap, but comparable in quality. I have pretty straight-forward myopia and mild cataracts...look at Zenni optical...once I found out about them, I haven't bought from anyone else. Even if you don't like the look of the frames...it costs maybe $12 bucks to try another frame...
How money much this it, 8023263 U.S.dollar.Thank you ,I don't konw you at city of ruzhou ,Lv Man ,miss u,forever. Two years, said in my all life ,miss you come on look out! 张少锋测试
i'm letting the native plants take over my yard the long slow way. i'm next to an unmaintained vacant lot and don't have an HOA.
the clover, mint cousins and wild strawberries are doing great with no help at all this year, but unfortunately so is the previous owner's grass!
our drought is long over here on the east coast, so there's plenty of rain and the grass just won't die.
since i live a couple hundred feet from a major river, i am not going to use herbicides on it and have resorted to spraying it with vinegar on hot dry days. the grass dies in those spots, the next rain washes away the vinegar and the clover moves in within a week
it's pretty ugly right now but by next spring i hope to have all the grass gone and a low carpet of self maintaining strawberries and clover
One reason Americans do not take time off is "they're afraid to lose their Jobs" so not vacationing is sometimes job security. Being an american myself all ive been thought my entire life is how important it is to get that wonderful top paying career and once I get it do not do anything to lose it.
Good advice. Technicals books do well. The bestsellers are worth 0. The best sellers sell especially bad now because so many people get it on the Kindle. The Kindle and other readers definitely will put a dent in mom and pop book sellers.
willieboy,
thankyou, and i am using a 1gal, 1pint ice cream bucket with the "clickey-lid".
i make my own beer via MR.BEER beer kits, so this method is fairley simular, with MR.BEER we got to heat the wort to a boil and pour it into cool water in the "beer keg" never exceeding 140 except to boil. then adding the yeast letting it set for a few minutes then stirring it in. wait a week or two and botteling/ carbonizing, all in all the two weeks is the same time frame from start to drink. i just started my "home made shine" and ill be going on vacation for a week and half, so no tampering with it to let "bad air" in.
i hope this works for me, im kinda excited about it bieing my first batch of shine ....wich is totally for educational purposes....cough cough
good day
and happy drinking

Dear Linsey,
Thank you for sharing of your tips to furnish indoors cheap, easy and comfortable!
It is an excellent solution especially for somebody like me...first time leaving alone.
Thanks!

i like your idea i will try.
i hope it works because all these years of living i pretty much made my life worthless....
Avoid all bad foods and Junk food. Treat them as something like once or twice a year!
Till we learn how to really eat right, we will continue to be bombarded with diabetes and heart diseases, obesity etc.
