What a fantastic list! I've been using a few of these to strengthen my core and back. I've seen good results, but you need to be consistent. The plank is one of the best as it works more than your core and is a good fat burner. I try and do as these many in 20 minutes each day.
My motivation for getting fitter has been my grandchildren. I want to be active in their lives and enjoy them for as long as I possibly can. So I started out simply with the objective to move more. I advanced from my initial goal of two 20-minute walks in the first week of my "move more" campaign to 300 minutes of mostly vigorous exercise per week. What keeps me going is how good I feel now. Everything is easier and more fun. I alternate cardio and strength building workouts, which aren't so much fun. But my "trick," as you would call it, is to add activities that are enjoyable. I take two water hour-long aerobics classes per week at an outdoor aquatic center in my community. I look forward to exercising at night under the moon and palm trees (California). I took golf lessons and now enjoy 9-holes weekly with my husband for a good walk and companionship. Now I have the stamina to enjoy chasing my grandkids around the park, playing catch with them in the back yard, and keeping up with them for hours at the zoo.
You forgot Plungers. lol I speak from experience, one restaurant I worked at had a couple of those from the dollarstore but of course thank god had 1 good plunger lol. Unplugged a couple nasty plugged toilets. you can't unplug a toilet with those dollarstore plungers to save your life! >.< Never buy those at dollarstores. they are the weakest ever! just wasting your money.
Every 10 years I splurge on an excellent quality handbag. I'm a one-bag girl so having something beautiful and thoughtfully made to carry everyday is a treat.
A yearly, February, 2 week, vacation to St. John USVI. It's my happy place with warm breezes, brilliant sunshine and crystal clear water in the middle of a cold, dreary winter.
I go out to eat with a friend about once a month at a moderately priced sit-down Mexican restaurant. The food's good and the margaritas are even better.
I splurge on going out to dinner or lunch with friends. If one is available, I will try to use a coupon or a discounted gift card. My friends are okay with the frugal hacks, because they benefit from them too.
I splurge on shoes. I bought cheap pairs for years. Within the year mark, they'd usually fall apart on me, pinch my feet and cause blisters. Spending an extra $50 or $60 dollars for a decent pair makes such a difference. You're getting more comfort, and in the long run, you're maintain feet health -- which is especially important during old age.
Monthly Payments Are Deceptive (for the dealership!)
I use monthly payments to my advantage. After careful research, I know how much I will pay for the vehicle/options, the best interest rate available to me, and knowing my down payment and I can calculate my monthly payment. I then walk into the dealership and tell them I am willing to pay my calculated monthly payment minus $25.

I splurge on skincare products - I buy the very expensive SK-II brand! One small jar can cost almost $300, and I own 6 of their products.
