Never saw haggling as an american trait..more expected in other countries like Mexico. But I work with middle eastern people and boy do they haggle and want a deal. Its almost embarrassing because I believe they are being unreasonable. This article has some good points and balanced.
It's sad that age does matter when it comes to getting a job. I had a friend who so much trouble finding a job because of his age. Although he is intelligent and has the skills that are required, he wasn't hired. Maybe we all just should look at the bright side and accept the fact of it but never give up in finding other opportunities for us.
I have been a fan of Clark Howard for over several years and was so excited when he got his own segment on CNN, but loved it when he did guest appearances for shows like Rachael Ray because of the info he imparted
I prefer to use regular paint for most projects. But a coat of any kind of black paint can really make stuff pop. Our main bathroom had a dingy cabinet. Even if I'd repainted it white, the whole room was kind of overwhelmingly white. The black made the silver pulls stand out. A beat up dresser now looks great in black (with some new pulls).
I did actually spray paint the hinges in our kitchen. I was replacing the pulls, and the old gold hinges didn't go. But I also didn't want to spend the somewhat appalling amount for 40 new hinges. Silver spray paint set everything right.
I enjoy following many different financial bloggers and experts. Dave Ramsey and J. Money are two I really enjoy that give me two different perspectives on things.
Our vet told us that all tennis balls no matter what brand, even if made specifically for dogs, is like steel wool on their teeth. The fuzzy material will tear them up no matter what.
These recipes look really tasty, and as well as saving money, it is so convenient to pull something you made earlier out of the freezer, place in the microwave and on the plate 10 minutes later! I tend to make lots of chilli myself or variances with mince meet, it is so easy and spicy food always tastes more flavoursome after freezing!
I don't know why people always think you will spend less if you have cash. I spend less with my debit card because I know I have to track it. If I have cash, I blow it and don't care. So I disagree with that mentality completely.
you skipped the best one, and the only app that has helped me save money - unsplurge. You put in goals and keep adding to the savings and you can cheer on other users. It's not linked to any accounts, which I like because that's too much of a privacy concern. It's perfect and makes saving addictive.
I have a checklist for packing. My wife and I have toured both Portugal and New Zealand for two weeks each with only our carry on luggage, as well as numerous domestic trips with carry ons. When I return from a trip, I make a note of what I actually used on the trip, versus what I took along and didn't use, and make adjustments for my next trip. The best starter lists I've found for someone just getting up to speed are on Rick Steves' web site and on OneBag dot com. The tip that is toughest for me to discipline myself to follow is leaving behind things like shampoo, toothpaste, and over the counter remedies, and just picking up supplies after arrival, as needed.
Hi Tamara,
That seems really strange, but not unheard of unfortunately.
If you wanted to salvage the account, I would suggest you call them (and escalate the issue to higher levels of customer service if you don't initially get the answers you want - such as with the line of credit suggestion).
It sounds like they had no right to cancel, especially since your husband was a supplemental cardholder and never signed anything.
But then again, I understand your frustration with the process and institution; I'd be hard-pressed not to react in a similar fashion if I were in your shoes. I believe it was BMO who cancelled my card and inspired this article.
Reading a book has always been life changing, not only that my imaginations work when I'm reading, I also get to write something interesting.. to me at least. I love walking too, and I think I should start using my floss from now on. teehee

Trent from the simple dollar. He gives me idea in how to teach the kids about money management
How do you prevent the smell of cooking cabbage from permeating your house?
That alone is enough to keep me from cabbage until I move out of my apartment and into a detached house.

some of these sites have cash back deals with ebates. It might only be a few bucks but if you shop online a lot it can add up over the quarter.

Does anyone know how long these burritos "keep" in the freezer?
I don't have one. I try to pick and choose whatever works.

Love this! I just starting using spray paint and the options are limitless! Such a thrift way to update things!
