The only way to get rich is to start a business or invest in property. Do not save as your money depreciates at inflation rate and you will get nowhere fast. Vehicle prices go up faster than what you can save as well as food and house prices, same story. Remember that your debt also depreciates at inflation rate as well as the depreciation of your currency. In Africa the currency depreciates at 30% per anum.
I have one I've never had to think about and don't know how to advise. My daughter's boyfriend works for Chipotle. They have been inching his hours back to nothing. They over hire to keep the employees hours below 29 so they can avoid Obamacare. Now with their legal and publicity troubles, they have too many employees. To avoid unemployment insurance, rather than lay them off, they merely reduce the hours to zilch. He was scheduled for 8 hours last week and at the last minute, they cancelled 4 of them. This week the scheduled 4 and cancelled them at the last minute. He has been de facto laid off, but not de jure. They won't say it. I have seen this one other time with the next door neighbor's daughter at a Walmart Neighborhood Market. Apparently this is the new screw over the employees game. What recurse does he have to a company that will not admit that they have laid employees off?
I would have to completely disagree with you. They make some of the finest controls ever. Mine have lasted over 20 years and I live in the northwest! Simply the BEST!
Nothing wrong with it, if you know what your doing. I do the occasional credit card for the large bonus if its worth the while, and only if my regular bills/spending will help hit the required spending minimums. I do not go out of my way to reach those spending limits or anything. This is not for the weak or faint hearted, yes its not worth racking up a balance and paying interest, because it most cases it will negate any rewards.
Check the online sites for bridal boutiques for dresses that are cheaper than what they offer in the store.
My sister dragged me into a David's Bridal to try on dresses first so I knew what style and size I wanted, and then I ended up ordering my gown from their website for hundreds of dollars less than the dresses they were promoting in the store.
This was not taking on debt but slowing down our get out of debt plan. My wife and I planned to take a cruise for our 25th wedding anniversary, which was also the time we were paying off our car loan as fast as possible. We went on the cruise which was AWESOME! And we still paid off the car about five months later. We no longer have the car and I'm looking at a picture of us standing in the Caribbean as I type this!
Costco's auto buying program is very good. Get a pre-negotiated Costco price, 15% discount on accessories and major service, and cash towards accessories. Get more cash (voucher) with an Executive membership.
I was a temp for a financial reporting company. The boss admitted to me that he hired young women just out of graduate school. He'd force them to work lots of extra hours and if they balked, he'd threaten to tell their boyfriends or husbands they were cheating with him.
Ugh. I felt dirty just being in the same room with him.
I had a part time job in the reservations office of a big hotel while I was in nursing school. There was no orientation and I didn't know what i was doing and then i was fired.
Hello,,, My comment on receiving unsolicited credit cards is brief. Back in the 70's, 80's, and I think even the early 90's, I cannot tell you how many actual credit cards would show up in our mail box. The whole gambit came from store cards to gas cards and the 2 big ones. All you had to do was sign them and use them to activate. Also call the company to see what your credit limit was, unless it was mentioned on the letter the card was attached to. It was also very obvious what was inside your envelope. They started out calling them "Bank Cards". Prior to that I think in so many ways, the credit system for consumers was so much better. Most things were paid by cash, lay-a-way (even kids could do) or store credit departments, such as stores like Sears, Penny's, Montgomery Wards, and most furniture, appliance, electronics, and auto shops did themselves. You would either go into the credit departments (counters) or mail your monthly payments in. People managed their money 100% better in those days and knew exactly what they owed and how they spent their money. I wish I could say financial progress with the times has gotten better, but plastic makes it incredibly easy for so many younger people to start out and stay in a financial mess. Many, many progressive things in our world has my deep admiration such as medicine, many foods, varieties of almost everything including electronics.. But I have to say, except for medical advances I must admit, I would go back to the lifestyle pre-70's in a fast minute if I could turn back the clock..
I can't believe that any of the Ohio cities didn't make the list. Columbus, Ohio is growing rapidly and developing housing quickly to accommodate the influx of people moving there. It's got a lot going for it.
I am on the verge of throwing everything (corporate life) away and embark on a 2-3 month long camping trip in the hills. I am not a bad driver but have never driven my monster in the hills, hence, am a bit jittery.
Had a great experience selling my miles to cashformymiles.com. i spent over 20 years accruing these and the opportunity to use them was far and few in between . I was able to get a nice chunk of change from these folks. Transaction was simple and the professionalism exhibited was top notch. Their service was immensely appreciated.
Using a 0% credit card balance transfer can be a boost to your payoff IF you don't continue to charge either card! Keep paying on it as fast as you can to take advantage of the time the card is 0%.
Using a 3lb hammer to pound 6" nails through asphalt roofing and into a sheet metal deck below that. In July on a several acre black roof. The job paid 2x minimum wage @ $2.50/hr. At the end of the first day they offered my 3.75 if I would return. "There isn't enough money." was my answer.
Oh my. Which one?!? First job out of college was a desk job in the marketing department for an expensive nationwide grocery store. I ended up being the person who was on the floor doing food demos for 4-6 hours at a time. First day on the job my boss told me I wasn't her top choice. That turned out to be the nicest mean thing she said to me in the two months I was working there.
I worked at a non profit for an older guy who had no family, and worked 7 days a week from 6 to midnight, and expected similar work hours from employees and "his indentured servants" (his term for interns). He hated women, minorities, and "the gays."
A friend's fiancée needed help at work, so she hired me to help clean up their books. She and my friend ended up breaking off their engagement, and she was so angry with me by association she couldn't be in the same room with me for an entire month. She communicated with me exclusively through post it notes. Passive aggressive ones, of course. Also, she was the one who broke off the engagement. My friend was devastated.
I'm a substitute teacher and this past summer I needed extra money so I got a retail job at a very high end purse store (eye roll here). I'm not dowdy or a bad dresser; I can glam with the best of them, but to see the consumerism at an all time high and on steroids was painful all summer long. I mean the credit card debt going on there- some women admitted to have 100 purses they never used in their closets. I felt pain, in my heart, for them. Anyway, that was my worst job and never doing retail again.
I worked in a toy factory. My job was to pick up an item, make sure it was correct, and attach something to it, and that was the job. I had a table in front of me and was in a huge noisy room. I lasted 90 min, ran out the door and called my previous boss and asked for my job back. He said yes and I and I was back at work that afternoon.

About 15 years ago worked at collection agency with a bunch of druggies and folks with violent past history.

Working overnights at any job is THE WORST haha. I worked overnights with adults with disabilities and it wrecked my sleep schedule.
I personally think the Karmin 4 Step System is the best ♥_♥

My husband doesn't see well so in the shower I put a blue band on the shampoo and a red one for the conditioner.
Third shift in a Quest Diagnostics lab, pouring pee from a container into a test tube. Definitely not my favorite job.

WHAT?? 60$??? where I live Zovirax costs 9$ for a 2g tube that can last forever. What am I missing?
My worst job was as a dog sitter. One time one of the dogs peed all over my house and then ran away. It took me hours to find him! Never again!
