you are wrong, macadamia nuts are the healthiest nuts because of the smallest portion of harmful pufa (polyunsaturated fats) and higher portion of good mufa (monounsat. fats)
Walnuts are the worst (they contain a hugh portion of inflamatory omega 6)
I just bought some today and went online to find a recipe I read a while back, (something 28th essential oils, which I use for EVERYTHING), and the first thing I saw was some doctor's article about the "dangers" of mineral oil. Crazy!
Thank You SO much for making this list!! I can't wait to try some of these.
Love Wise Bread usually, but disappointed in this article. Any job is a good job until you get a better one. Unemployment is likely to create depression before earning wages. The article has a somewhat "entitled" tone to it--believe me, not the attitude that built this country.
Jobs are pretty much what you decide to make them. I was poor, so starting in high school, I waited tables to help put myself through college and grad school. I made good money and gained self-confidence from doing a difficult job. No, I didn't work in a fancy restaurant. Yes, people were rude at times and I learned how to react politely anyway. Many, many more people were kind and interesting. I probably made more money than you cite here back in 1983---I just found the right restaurants and I was not afraid to work hard. Serving the public taught me respect for those who serve.
Social Worker...It is very rare for things to get better with a family. I worked with mentally ill children for years and it is so difficult for the parents to want to change how they do things. They just want the problem child gone or fixed without their effort!
Hello! Wonderful ideas. I know I'm late to the party so to speak but just a quick science FYI. Epsom Salts is not the same as Magnesium Chloride (magnesium flakes). It's Magnesium Sulfate. While still absorbable via topical application, magnesium chloride is even more so and more readily accepted into our bodies. Sorry for being the troll but seriously cute ideas!
You must be completely out of your mind. I have been in the retail furniture industry for 25 years. In 15 years I've not seen more than a 75% markup. I live in Alabama / Tennessee area, so you ask it could be lower than the national average. The national average for furniture sales person's commission is 6% across the nation. I don't know where you get your information, but you might be on
I use my bread machine weekly. It is more than 10 years old. I would definitely replace it. I also have a food processor and a blender that I use regularly. Most meals are cooked from scratch. So for me those items would be a must have small appliance.
The vinegar and alcohol mixtures sound great; however, does the chemicals in the vinegar and alcohol cause damage to the paint or special windshield protection sealant?
High volume production line worker. Repetitive movements in the hundreds or thousand times per shift leave your hands and arms hurting daily. Being too exhausted day after day for any meaningful intimacy except for occasional weekends have a way of ruining a relationship with spouse.
PS: I LOOOOOVE the idea of cooking my way through a cookbook! Even one new recipe a week would be great, and depending upon what kinds of friends one has, it could be a group thing.
I have to tell this to everyone do not get into security no matter what you do. It is not worth it and a waste of money. They all say its simple to get in and anyone will hire you with a security card but the deal is, if you dont live in a major city tough luck getting one. If you dont live in a major city you better have some good security experience if you want to be considered. It costs 300$ to get your prints and guard card, and its only a 10 dollar at hour job at average. Its not worth it at all.
As a starving college student i can fully appreciate the simplicity, yum factor, price points, ease of prep, and flexibility of this meal plan. I have to completely disagree with some people complaining about the list not having enough greens. I am THE HEALTHIEST eater i know even when going by this meal plan. Sure its not super packed with greens but if you have to live off of $20 a week you could be doing a whole hell of a lot worse than this list. I actually think its a pretty even compromise between low fat/ healthy and sustenance, keeping me feeling alive and functional in my busy day. If you need some more greens add some salad for $3 dollars and problem solved.
Love these reminders! I already practice many of these suggestions and you have reinforced my resolve. I would add exploring vegetarian cooking to #2. Great article!

How in the world did your Kitchen Aid Mixer die? Mine has fallen off my countertop while working (TWICE!) and is still trucking on...

Not sure if this counts; I DID have to buy the bike in the first place, but riding costs nothing!
(I am amazed, though, at HOW MANY perfectly-good bikes I've found in trash piles over the years, all sizes, so keep your eyes open!)
