  • I Finally Canceled Comcast Cable…Before It Hurt More Than My Wallet   16 years 3 weeks ago

I had nothing but great experience with Comcast, I only use cable internet though. They aren't very fast but whenever there was an issue they fixed it. I live in Philadelphia so it may depend on local management but I have absolutely no complaints. As soon as Sprint's 4G covers my area I'm using my cellphone for the Internet access. 3G is still not quite there to make me get rid of the cable internet.

OPRAH- THE 6 DOLLAR PAYPAL MONEY MAKING METHOD
    As Seen On OPRAH & 20/20 - TURN $6 into $24600
Earn money using PAYPAL as seen on Oprah & 20/20
THE PAYPAL 6 DOLLAR MONEY-MAKING METHOD
AS SEEN ON OPRAH EARN HUGE $$$$$$$$
    all you need is:
    1) An email address
    2) A PayPal account
    3) $6.00
THIS IS A 2008, CURRENT EMAIL LIST, What do you have to lose being
you are only sending 1 dollar to six people. I WAS SKEPTICAL AT
    FIRST,
but over a few days hundreds starting appearing in my paypal account!
    It was like Christmas morning!!!!
    INSTRUCTIONS:
    STEP 1:
The first thing to do is highlight and SAVE this entire post in word
or notepad on your computer so you can come back to it later. After
that, if you are not already a PayPal user you need to go to
    the PayPal website at
    www.paypal.com ... and
SIGN UP. If you want to be able to receive credit card payments from
other people then you will need to sign up for a PREMIER or BUSINESS
    account (not just a PERSONAL
account). This is highly recommended to allow others easy payment
options. In order to place the initial $6 into your account, you
will have to verify your bank account with PAYPAL (which may take a
few days). PAYPAL is 100% secure and is used by millions of people
    worldwide.
    STEP 2:
Here is where the action occurs. The first thing to do is to send a
$1.00 payment to each of the 6 email addresses on the current list
from your PayPal account. To do this quickly and successfully,
    follow
    these simple steps:
    1. Login to PayPal and click on the "Send Money" tab near the top of
    the screen
    2. In the "Recipient's Email" field enter the email address
    3. In the "Amount" field enter "1" (This is your $1.00 payment)
    4. In the "Category" field select "Service" (Keeping it legal)
    5. In the "Subject" field type "EMAIL LIST", and in the "NOTE" field
enter "PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR EMAIL LIST". By doing this, you are
creating a service and maintaining the legality of the system by
    "paying" for the service.
    6. Finally, click on the "Continue" button to complete the payment.
Repeat these steps for each of the 6 email addresses. That's it! By
sending the $1.00 payment to each address, you are implementing the
compounding POWER of the system. You will reap what you sow!
Here is the current e-mail list:
    **************************
    ***********************
    The email list:
    1. nexoncareergm@hotmail.com
    2. Octavst1974@yahoo.com
    3. Sfg6089@hotmail.com
    4. octavstbp@yahoo.com
    5. YellowMark78@hotmail.com
    6. Mooncharm1@hotmail.com

    **************************
    **********************
    STEP 2:
Now take the #1 email off of the list that you see above (from your
saved file), move the other addresses up (6 becomes 5, 5 becomes 4,
etc.) and add YOUR email address (the one used for your PayPal
account) as number 6 on the list. This is the only part of the
    document that
should be changed. ** Make sure your email address is the one you
    have registered with PayPal **
    STEP 3:
Post your amended article to at least 200 newsgroups or message
    boards.
Keep in mind that there are tens of thousands of groups online! All
    you
need is 200, but remember the more you post the more money you make
    - as well as everyone else on the list! I've began to see money roll
    in
before I even hit 100 posts, but try to hit around 200 to allow
maximum exposure. Use Netscape, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari,
or whatever your internet browser is to search for various news
    groups,
log on to any search engine like yahoo.com or google.com and type in
    a
subject like 'MILLIONAIRE MESSAGE BOARD', 'MONEY MAKING DISCUSSIONS',
'MONEY MAKING FORUMS', or 'BUSINESS MESSAGE BOARD', PAYPAL 6 DOLLAR,
OPRAH 6 DOLLAR PAYPAL METHOD. You will
    find
thousands and thousands of message boards. Click them one by one and
you will find the option to post a new message. Fill in the subject
which will be the header that everyone sees as they scroll through
    the
list of postings in a particular group, and post the article with the
NEW list of email addresses included. THAT'S IT!!! All you have to do
is jump to different news groups and post away. After you get the
    hang
of it, it will take about 30 seconds for each newsgroup.
    HOW THE MONEY WORKS:
When you post 200 messages in various forums, it is estimated that
at LEAST 15 people will respond and send you a $1.00 ($15.00). Those
15 will Post 200 Posts each and 225 people send you $1.00 ($225.00),
etc. through 6 levels of email addresses. For comprehension
purposes, here is an easy viewing chart:
REMEMBER, THE MORE NEWSGROUPS YOU POST IN, THE MORE MONEY YOU WILL
    MAKE!!
    GOOD LUCK!!
Remember, all of this is ABSOLUTELY LEGAL! If you have any doubts,
please refer to le 18 Sec.1302 & 1241 of the United States Postal
    laws

  • Amazing AAA Discounts   16 years 3 weeks ago

I found out about the discounts you can get with AAA a couple of years ago and went to their website to check them out. I would not use most of them, but I was all about the 10% off at Gap Outlet stores. My husband and I will drive out to the nearest outlet mall once or twice a year and I always take advantage of that extra 10% at the Gap Outlet. With their already low closeout deals and the discount basically taking care of tax, I can really load up on clothes for myself and gifts for birthdays, etc.

  • How to Make Moonshine   16 years 3 weeks ago

    ON a CLOUDY DAY

I thought my cloudiness problem was solved with distilled water. The 1st quart and a half of Kroger's Distilled water, the product and water combined and was very clear. I tested it and it was still way too strong. The 2nd quart combined and turned cloudy as soon as mixed. I don't know. Maybe it says more about Kroger's product than mine. At any rate, even with no aging, I mixed in some Amaretta essence and it is as good or better than store bought. Once the Amaretta goes in, you don't see cloudiness.

  • What's Faster for Mortgage Payoff: $100/Month Extra or 1 Payment/Year Extra?   16 years 3 weeks ago

I will be 50 yrs old next year and am looking at buying a condex. I have 82k in the bank and would like to put down 65k- 70k. I am looking to finance 160k. My child support is 450.oo per week and will expire in approximately 6 - 10 years. Because my child is special needs my salary is about 400.00 a week so as you can see half or more of the income is via cs.

Does it make more sense for me to go for a 15 yr or a 30 yr mortgage? The 30 yr no points is 4.875, with 2 points 4.375. The 15 yr with no points is 4.250 and with 2 points 3.750.

I don't know that I will ever make enough in my 60's that a tax deduction on interest is going to be a big deal to me. What do you think?

Does it make more sense to go for a 30 yr with the points and add extra money on when I can and try and put that extra few hundred away in a Roth?

    Thank you for your time!

  • Reclaiming Etiquette: Dining Basics for New Professionals   16 years 3 weeks ago

Nice post. In my field a job interview almost always includes a lunch or dinner with the rest of the department. Some other pieces of advice I give my proteges:

    * You are STILL on the job, or the interview, or the sales call. Behave accordingly.
    * If it's an interview, pass on the alcohol. Period.
    * If possible take a chair facing away from the room. There will be fewer distractions.
    * Try to talk to everyone seated near you; don't ignore one side for the other.
    * Even if the restaurant has a reputation for the best lobster or ribs, or whatever, order something that isn't messy or complicated. A spill or stain will throw you off your game even if the interviewer doesn't care.
    * if a bone or pit has to come out of your mouth, it should be the way it went in: on a fork.
    * Don't forget to eat! Don't talk with your mouth full, but take time to actually finish your meal.

    Thanks for the post!

  • Is MagicJack a Scam?   16 years 3 weeks ago

ok heres what i feel about this after having it for about a year and half almost 2 years
it works i never had it crash only time it didn't work was when my pc wasn't on and ahaha to people who thinks usb devices any devices can work without the power running on the pc its like asking why the fridge isn't working then going oh i didn't know you needed to plug it in
i am a pc tech and yeah saying its simple is a being nice i mean somebody with one arm could do it after somebody opened the yellow postage container that holds the foam cutout with the device in it with a cardboard sleeve over it i ordered online i didn't get charged till the 30th day and the call quality is fine it was just like my rcn cable digital talk or wtf they call it to charge you 20-30 dollars a month for and pretty much what rcn and comcast uses is a box like a modem in your basement that connects to your coaxial cable and powered by a plug and plugs a phone cord in a phone port in your basement thats it pretty much it so if you can plug in a toaster you can get this thing to work the customer service is shitty i can say that but for 20 bucks a year what do you expect seriously if you have friends over seas tell them to order one you activate it here with a phone number and mail it too them the thing is less then prolly a quarter pound in weight won't cost much to ship overseas and free calling from europe to usa

  • Book Review: The Happy Minimalist   16 years 3 weeks ago

On the specific topic of spending money for "organizing solutions," I agree with you completely. I even wrote a post on the topic: Stuff Will Never Make You Organized.

More broadly, I agree that you can only become an expert by doing the practice, but I think there's also a place for books like this. Without such an example, many people could go their whole lives without ever considering that a minimalist life was an option. Reading a book is no alternative to simplifying your life, but it does at least point out that the possibility exists. For some people, that might be just what they need.
