Ann Taylor Loft is one of those stores I can spend hours in, but I almost always walk away without a purchase. Why? The products are fabulous, but the prices don’t always fit my tight budget. This weekend, they are offering free shipping on all purchases (no minimum required), and dozens of too-good-to-be true deals. Check it out!

I remember the first time I picked out my own brand new school clothes. They were made by Oshkosh (or OshKosh B’Gosh at that time), and they were fashionable and affordable. What’s changed since then? Not much, actually. The clothes are still cute, and for a very limited time, about the same price they were when I was growing up!

Airfare for less than $50 makes me a little giddy, even though I haven’t left the state in over 2 years. So I had to do a double-take on the Red Light Specials over at Spirit Airlines website. $9 fares? Let’s take a look.

OK, this is HUGE news! Coming from Maine, I’ve always been an L.L. Bean fan. They make great stuff, have a fabulous return policy, and if you can manage to get to Freeport where the regular catalog store is, they also have a factory rejects outlet just a street or two away. And while I’m always on the look-out for super deals, free shipping and online sales, this little bit of information I just got today beats every frugal L.L. Bean shopping tip I’ve ever heard. And you can put it to use every Thursday until further notice.

I found myself in a strange battle of wills last week. My favorite store, Target, was having another one of those spectacular sales. Red tags featuring the 75% off, and the rare 90% off, sticker were scattered far and wide throughout the store. And try as I might, I could not find a reason to buy anything.

I don't like buying new. It's not that I consider myself to be some kind of Scrooge. I just have a hard time paying more for something than I need to, and often we take that extra hit when we pay for a brand new item. So, I buy second-hand things a lot of the time. Here's my guide to the main items you should always consider buying used.

Personal Finance
I met with an elderly couple today in their home to execute some planning documents. While neither of them ever had jobs as professionals and neither inherited any money from family members, they have amassed quite a respectable sum of money as they continue to progress through the Golden Years. The lesson that they passed on to me today in our short meeting was that you have to proceed through life without regret, and live each moment so that you will not later look back with regret. After meeting with the couple, I returned to my office and put together a list of 25 ideas, goals, etc. that I want to look back on when I reach retirement age, and say that I fully accomplished or successfully practiced each of these 25 goals. So without further ado, here is part one of my list, with part two coming tomorrow night when I return home from class (feel free to add to my list or share your thoughts in the comments):
