Great one! I'm always interested in affordable date ideas, and I love your tip about the sunset candlelight picnic. Way to take a date in the park to the next level.
Don't laugh - if a belt snaps in your vehicle far from any services people have been known to use pantyhose to limp their car back to civilization. Not a recommended method, for sure, but a pretty funny one!
Yeah, the Neti Pot can be a bit disturbing to your office mates catching your snotty purge in the restroom :) And Pearl brings up some important concerns too.
I use the saline nasal drops. It's effective and natural.
Great tips! Working with sinus pain is impossible.
I scored my treadmill from a foreclosure. It's kinda sad, but the price was right :)
I've seen a couple more sheriff sales with a lot of valuable stuff on the front lawn. It always leaves me curious why they didn't try to sell that stuff.
Back to the home gym topic--never buy this stuff new. Most don't have the discipline to stick to a fitness program (and you might not either) so the Craigslist suggestion is priceless. You can get a deal on others' attempt to recover their failed investment and save yourself a lot of money as you start-up your program.
I've been banking online for at least 10 yrs in Canada and can't imagine life without it or the online tools like that help me budget and track my spending. If I had to depend on paper, I'd be up a creek as I'm constantly "misplacing" things. On a related note, I've just started using lemon (which I likely heard about on this site) to process and store my receipts online and I use curdbee, which I definitely learned about on WiseBread, to do my invoicing. Come to think of it, that's where I learned about Mint, which I started using to replace Microsoft Money. Now that my bank has introduced an Android app, I'm going mobile too.
I pay bills online and make an automatic payment weekly to my separate emergency fund account. But I don't set up my bills to pay automatically. I go in an enter the amount and the date for it to be paid. That way I keep on top of my balance and also have a head's up if a bill that's usually very regular has shot up.
I use online banking for everything, including bill pay, credit card statements, checking accounts. I rarely write checks. The only time I physically go to a bank is to deposit checks or to withdraw cash.
I love it! It has made my life so much easier because just trying to get to the bank is so inconvenient. Plus I can make timelier deposits into various savings accounts once I get paid.
One other reason why I like doing this: it gives you a sense of satisfaction and success outside of work. You get to accomplish goals, work hard, and get a sense of worth without tying it to your work, which I think is important.
I've been washing by hair with baking soda and ACV for about 6 months, and with the research I've done, using ACV right after the baking soda so it fizzes is usually thought of as a big NO. Even if the chemical reaction doesn't damage your hair, your reducing or neutralizing the acidity of the ACV rinse, there by not helping your hair.
And usually a half tablespoon of baking soda dissolved in a cup of water, massaged into a dry scalp, is plenty. You usually get a few little foamy bubbles on your finger tips. Then rinse with water. Then use the ACV rinse, 1 tablespoon to a cup water, and rinse that out too.
And someone posted earlier that they avoid the water as much as possible because the quality sucks. A lot of people (on longhaircommunity.com) lug filtered water into the shower or buy distilled water from the store and use that as the only water that touches their hair or as a final rinse.
It really depends. Back where I come from eating out is very cheap and lots of healthy and unhealthy options so it's common for my family to eat out almost everyday, twice a day almost.
Moving to where I am now, my partner has buys his lunch outside daily (business lunches) while I make my own because I'm don't like to lose focus while working.
We eat out weekends - usually friday dinner, breakfast and dinner on the weekends.
We should probably cut back because food isn't as good outside most times if we're looking at home style cooked food. But gourmet and restaurants aren't bad choices, you just sometimes get sick of them. Better to save the money anyway.
- Easy access to all your accounts whenever you want
- Easy budgeting of all your money through consolidation programs like Quicken
- Go green, no more paper statements
- Don't have to waste time going to the bank to do simple stuff
- So easy to monitor for any fraudulent activity
Yes I use online banking. Easy way to check my accounts, transfer money (when I have it) and the online bill pay mails the checks for a couple of my monthly bills so I save postage. I like you on Facebook.
Loved this, helpful hints for my next foray into cleaning so when she comes home next time, and i proudly announce, "I've been cleaning," she doesn't scoff and the go on to list the few things that I have forgotten.
I have online banking through my checking accounts, and even have an online bank account with ING Direct. My dad, though, doesn't trust online banking, or really any financial transaction on the internet.
Most definitely! I would have paid many a late fee on bills or would have overdrawn my account if it hadn't been for online banking! Not to mention the (albeit small) percentage of interest I've saved on automating car and loan payments. LOVE online banking!

You are not where you work.
This is an awesome post. I had not heard of ShePosts. I am off to check that out. Thank you for the info.

This is great. It tastes amazing.
Can't wait to make more White Lightning up here in Southern Ontario!

Thanks for the mention Ashley! We're buying a car soon so the one on tips for saving money on a car will come in handy.
I also like your Facebook page. :)
